Tab Hoarder Rescue is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge that helps manage open tabs. This page explains what data the extension handles and how.

What the extension accesses

To function, the extension uses the browser's tabs, storage, and alarms APIs to:

• Read the titles, URLs, and favicons of tabs open in your browser, so it can display them and group them by site.
• Track, per tab, the timestamp of when you last viewed or updated it, so it can identify tabs that have gone idle.
• Save session snapshots (lists of tab titles and URLs) that you explicitly choose to create.
• Store your preferences (stale-tab threshold, tab-count warning limit).

Where this data is stored

All of the above is stored using the browser's built-in local extension storage, on your own device. Nothing is transmitted to any external server, and the extension does not communicate with the internet at all.

What is never collected

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any browsing history, page content, personal information, or analytics of any kind. There is no account system and no remote logging.

Third parties

The popup displays favicons using a favicon-lookup image request per open tab's domain. No other third-party service is used.
